The Hundred-Foot Journey

By 08:00

'The Hundred-Foot Journey' starring Helen Mirren as French chef, Om Puri, Manish Dayal, and Charlotte Le Bon.

When an Indian family move in opposite the Michelin star restaurant and decide to open up a restaurant complete with loud music, bright lights and a handful of spices the small community (particularly head chef Madame Mallory, Mirren). All of this leads to a great deal of petty squabbles as the two restaurants try to battle it out.

The film deals with racism, with loyalty, with ambition and with food. As Indian and French cuisine fuse, as communities connect the mix of characters creates a humorous uplifting movie perfect for a Friday night family movie.

Sometimes walking a hundred feet is the hardest journey you will have to make. It requires courage and self-belief and as Hassan makes his way in the culinary world he struggles to find a balance between the highest levels of culinary experimentation, his family and Marguerite (the beautiful Charlotte Le Bon).
This underrated film was produced by Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake.

Have a wonderful week,
